I just completed my WK6 R3 today. The feeling after was amazing.
It felt even better when i accidentally forgot to press Run after the warm up and just kept going and knew I had to jog for 25 mins and wondered why I didn’t hear anything or any words of advice throughout till my Mi Fit app told me I’ve done 3km in 21mins.
I didn’t feel too bad then so I thought I might aswell keep running and actually attempted to do 5k and completed in 36.41 seconds and was really chuffed that I did my first 5k.
Now I realise it’s all mental strength and by forgetting it actually helped me.
I won’t do that again and will stick to the programme but I do know now that I can jog slow pace for 36 mins.
My aim is complete 5k within 30 mins before I graduate.
I’ve not run for 15 years due to dodgy arthritic knees so this feels amazing.
Thank you C25K for the amazing app. Would never have started without it.
Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 6, you are now OFFICIALLY a runner BUT you should not have run for longer than 25 minutes, let alone running a full 5K, by doing that could risk injury, also, don't "push yourself" on trying to get a 30 minute 5k before you graduate, again that risks injury, onwards and upwards to week 7 which are 3/25 minute runs.
Thanks, appreciate it.
Your absolutely right. Won’t do that again.
Just went by how I felt soo i carried on at a realy slow pace for last 10 mins.
But I would absolutely agree with the previous reply .
I know , I'm sat on the injury couch after week 8 run 1 and haven't run now for 11 days and that was just through picking up the pace on the last 60 seconds .
