So I embarked on W6R3 this morning feeling pretty confident though had a slight twinge in my left thigh but had rested for 2 days so hoped it would be ok.
I had planned my route yesterday so off I went without Laura, enjoying my music and the sun on my face but after 20 mins I hit that dreaded wall and just had to stop. It was either I was going too fast or my breathing wasnt right or maybe a combination of both but knew I still had something in the tank to carry on. So, after getting my breath back in control off I set for another lap of my park and a deviation in my route home so that I could try and make up some distance and time.
I was disappointed that I didnt manage the whole 25 min run without stopping but on checking my stopwatch at the end I did end up running for a total of 35 mins and when I checked the route on mapmyrun it was a total of 5.47km so quite pleased with that and dont feel such a failure! Running 5k in 30 mins non-stop now seems achievable!!
So overall I am trying to remain positive about today and know that I have another three runs in W7 to perfect that 25 min run and am confident I can do it. After all, a few weeks ago I was struggling to run for 3 mins..... I knew stamina was what I had to work on and today proved that though I still do, I have come a long way.
Wish me luck and good luck to all of you on your next run, whatever level you are at!! Sue x

Sue, you can and will do this! You wrote that naughty F word...failure...its not allowed here. You are doing great, some of us struggle so much more then others but look at our end result. Welcome to week 7!
Hi Sue, Good luck for week 7, I'm sure you'll be fine on your next run. I did R1 this morning and felt quite good at the time but.... I have been using Endomondo to track route and time and previously have incuded the warm up and down walks. Today I decided to just track the 25 minutes, gutted I was averaging just over 8 minutes per km which means I'm not going to run the 5k in 30 mins unless I really speed up over the next two weeks (which I really can't see happening). I think I can do the 30 minutes but not the 5k very disappointed. Jx
Thanks Jackie and well done on W7R1. I am only now tracking distance as they are runs without intervals but am not going to get too hung up on all the stats as just being able to run for 30 mins is my main goal and the speed can be worked on later! Dont be disappointed with the time; it will get better!
I was naughty and ran again this morning and managed the 25 mins of W7R1 without stopping so am well pleased! Just hope my legs dont get their own back on me now and punish me..... Good luck for R2! Sx
