W4 R1.. Yeeha

I was up and out for 7.30am this morning, quite a grey and chilly start to the day here. I was quite nervous it it seems to be ramping up a bit now. 5 minute walk was fine, along with first 3 minutes, 90 second walk also ok and the the 5 minute run was up on me.. My route takes me along a lovely straight road, it's tree lined punctuated by lamp posts and bus stops, Looking ahead and gauging by the three minutes previously done, I guessed roughly where the five minutes would take me.. I took it fairly slow and went for it, the first few minutes were okay but as it got tougher I just focused on the large oak tree which was my target. I was slightly out with the tree but did it.. The rest of the session seemed to whizz b, I just kept telling myself you can do this.. Funnily enough the backs of my legs hurt the most on the 5 minute warm down.. I almost wanted to break back into a jog... Roll on Tuesday night :-)

Well done jlow! Did my w4r1 around the same time as you this morning. Wasn't as bad as I feared - but still a challenge. Breathing seemed a bit easier to get right this morning and I think that helped. My next run is scheduled for Tuesday evening too.

9 this morning seemed early, I doubt I could do 7.30. Grey and chilly is good though, it means less sweaty. Well done getting through it!

You are keen Jackie getting up for that time but thats brilliant news, well done! Glad your back was ok for you not to miss a weekend morning run too. It wasnt so bad was it?

I was out this morning too; nice and cool and a different route really helped to make it easier for me and though the breathing wasnt good to start with it seemed to settle down after a while. Cant wait for Tuesday evening either! x

Hi Sue, I always seem to be awake early these days and really enjoy being out early! Your right it wasn't so bad, and it does help being cooler.. May feel different when it's really cold though. My hubby has treated me to a pair of running gloves and a hat for proper winter running! Good luck for Tuesday, look forward to hearing how you get on Jx

That was lovely of him! I got some running gloves in a sale last week; the thought of running with cold hands - unbearable! Still need to get a hat though. Sx
