Oh yes! I am amazed how well that run went! Just couldn't quite reach the full 5 minute run at the end, but feel I'll achieve it this week. I actually enjoyed that run, properly enjoyed it. Had last week off due to a cold but this hasn't hindered me. I still can't believe I actually ran for 5 minutes! My breathing felt good and I do too! Yay!!! ππππββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπππ

Congratulations π π ππΎ
Brilliant...this is so good to read...anyone strating this programme just needs to read posts like this...We all think we won't be able to do it...and don't get me wrong there might be some ups and downs...but mostly ups!!!...Taking it nice and slowly is the key to managing the runs, finding your rhythm and sticking to it...Glad you're over your cold and coming back strong x
Such a lovely positive post! You will get all the way with a mindset like this! ππ
You are at the same place as me in the course, I managed the W4R1 on Sunday. I am lucky that I run with a group on Sunday morning, doing the consolidation runs during the week. Like you I was amazed that I managed to run for 5 minutes. I was even more amazed that I had managed to jog to the front of the group while talking.
I feels great to know that youβre making progress, congratulations.
Brilliant, well done! Do you find it easy running in a group? Keep going. πββοΈππ
Although I am normally near terminally antisocial I actually find it good running in a group. The advice about going at a conversational pace is easier when you have someone to talk to. I normally do the consolidation runs alone but have even started doing these in a group.
Keep up the work at the program will work for you.
That's interesting... I'd like to think that I'm a sociable person, but certainly at the moment my running outings have to be a solitary exercise (apart from the company & support of Laura on the podcast). I'm sure that this is just a confidence/self esteem issue. I would not want to run with anyone else in case I was going too slow for them (or even worse, in case I had to run harder/faster to keep up and couldn't make it). I also like to please myself exactly where I go and exactly when I do go. At the moment I feel that would put me under way too much (self imposed) pressure and I would crumble. The drawback to this though is that I don't have the distraction of someone to chat with and pass the time by counting how many times one of my feet hits the ground as a way of calculating how much time there is left in each run. Maybe this will change as I progress through the programme, but at the moment I am quite happy to do things my way for now.
Well done for that! I'm exactly a week behind you at the moment and although I did them, I found my two 3 minute runs this morning to be tough going. I'm hoping that this'll get easier for me over the next two running days so that I'm able to do the longer times (with shorter recovery) next week. I'm trying to be realistic with my aims here and do plan to complete the course, but I'm not expecting to get it done in only 9 weeks. The way I've decided to tackle this C25K thing is to only consider a week completed once I've managed to complete three consecutive runs and if I can't make the whole distance/time of a run, I'll consider that to be a practice, and try again next time (also maybe adjusting my pace to help?). It is a great programme and I consider every run a I do now to be an achievement when I consider how long I couldn't run when I started. Keep it up, I am sure you'll get there.
I'm at same stage as you, i did that run this morning and still feeling chuffed that I managed, those 90 second walk breaks seemed to fly by and I thought I wouldn't finish but turned my music up and I did it, great feeling managing 5 minutes eh πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
