Sooo, was dubious about how I'd manage this one, especially given I had 2 weeks break with a dodgy ankle (still not amazing), however, I went to bed early last night (without wine) to get prepped for this morning's first run in Week 4.

As always, the first run of the sequence I find slightly lumbering, breathing, rhythm. Then, got to 2nd run and bingo.. was loving it. I went at a fairly slow pace - a snail could have possibly passed me but I kept going for another minute after the allotted stop time, then regretted it as my rest time reduced of course!

What I failed on was I hadn't read the notes at the beginning to say it was two x 5 minute runs, not one, lol. I got quite a shock when Jo said, right.. off for your next 5 min run!! Slightly gruelling was the word but I did it and didn't stop/walk, just kept going.

I'm very proud/happy/excited that I was able to run for 16 minutes today (with a couple of walking breaks) and managed 4.99km distance according to my garmin. And as Jo said, at this point, we are now running more than we are walking - never thought I'd see the day, yippeeee!

Hi there, well done. I know what you mean about the first run of the session and finding it tough to get breathing into a rhythm. For some reason I thought I was on week 4 run 2 last Saturday and all through I kept wondering why I couldn't remember Jo giving her w4 pep talk. Only realised when I finished that I hadn't done R1...doh!!

Anyway, good luck with the rest of it and take care of your ankle 🏃☺️

Well done to you! I think its amazing that after a 2 week break you were still able to do this! Just goes to show that the body doesn't lose the fitness level within that time. Im going back after a 6 day break and Im a bit apprehensive but am so dying to get back out there. I just hope mine goes as well as yours!

Thanks.. You will be absolutely fine after just 6 days break, sometimes I go 2 days between. You may find you have more energy with the rest. Good luck and keep us posted 🏃‍♀️😀
