So, so far I've only done one run. I started the scheme after deciding to take up running again and discovering that I couldn't physically just go for a run anymore. I only stopped running for 2 years but in that time did no exercise whatsoever, and smoked and drank (and ate!) heavily. So after feeling completely demoralised, I had a quick look online and found this scheme. I even managed to persuade my much older boyfriend to come with me, bonus!
The first run was ok, but a lot harder than I'd imagined. I think I still saw myself as being a naturally fit person, how wrong I was! But we got through it and felt great. Since the run though, I've barely been able to walk. My hips completely seized up (has anybody else experienced this?) and it seems every other muscle in my body is screaming at me. The next run is tonight and I just hope I can cope with it!
I also can't help seeing that 5k as a very, very long way away, but reading other blog posts on here I think, if so many people can do it, why can't I?
