W8R3/ W9R1 complete: nearing the end (of the beginning!)

I actually wrote a post after week 8 run 3. I tried using the little tablet I've got but somehow or other wiped and lost the whole thing. And work has been so busy I have not had a minute to put finger to keyboard. (I have kept running though)What I wrote, in brief, was that I was still on a bit of a high after two 5k plus runs within the 28 minutes but that W8R3 was a minor letdown, slower and a real struggle. As it happened it wasn't very much slower but I had got myself stuck on this time/distance thing and it just didn't happen: leaden legs and fighting to feel the motivation on my first cold Sunday morning. I was glad to put that one behind me

With that in the background you'd have thought I might not be so well set up to start week 9. What a difference a couple of days can make. No staff meeting this Tuesday so I tried to get back from work quickly to allow at least part of my run in the park. And it worked. The 30 minutes went so much better than that last 28 and I actually enjoyed the run more. Just believing you can do it, keeping the pace regular and not too fast and following Laura's instructions and timings. That plus Endomondo meant I had reminders every five minutes and motivation in my Km 'lap times'.

Just hope I can keep this up in this, my graduation week!!

Well done janda. You have proved the system works-if you stick to it. Your own pace is what you should be running-not about speed, but endurance and stamina as Laura is always saying.

I'm right behind you-run3 tomorrow, then start week 9 on Monday. Good luck with Graduation run on Friday-be thinking of you :-)

Thanks. Just did R2 tonight: a bit slower still but not bad: more when I post. Good luck to you too.

Oh wow.....wish I could run that fast! Takes me over 38 minutes to do 5k.

Well done. I'll be doing W9 R1 tomorrow and find mental 'talk' makes a massive difference to how my runs go. My music choices have got slower as I try to relax, look around and trundle along. 😀
