It can only get better.

I was doing ok. Got to week 8, feeling good, signed up for the race for life...then it all went down hill! Got really painful shins so off I go for gait analysis, new trainers purchased but still couldn't go out because my shins still hurt like mad so I switched to swimming or cycling. Shins better so off I go only to discover that running, hot weather and hayfever aren't a good mix. Monday was a disaster :-( I could hardly breathe so I rang my doctor and he prescribed a ventolin inhaler. Used it for the first time yesterday...omg worked a treat! Managed 4.5km running with 0.5km walking, my best for ages. My legs let me down this time not my lungs. Week Saturday is my Race for life, not dreading it quite as much as I was.

the heat has been awful for us athletes ;) I'm glad tonights run will be either in the rain or without sun at least.

It sounds like your Race for Life will be a breeze :) Good luck

I've signed up with the local cheap gym so that I can get on the treadmill when its too hot.

They have air conditioning!

Not the same as outside but thoroughly enjoyed it once I got used to it!

And it had a fan on it..the treadmill, not the gym! :)
