Getting Started

This morning I have spent trying to download the podcasts, I have finally got it onto my iPad but not onto my iPod - all this technology is beyond me - so unless I want to run clutching my iPad my first run planned tomorrow is in jeopardy. I will go into the apple store this afternoon,I will not give up before I start, I could always buy a treadmill and start in my dining room but it is much nicer to be outside and the whole point was that it was free. I have been complaining for ages at the amount of help smokers get to help quit and nothing is done to help people control their weight and keep fit, this is my big chance.

Hi, which iPod do you have?

I have an iPod shuffle that is about 4 years old, so not the new model. I have managed to put the podcast into a play list but when I try to download I get an error message saying that this is not possible:(

I may still be running with my iPad!

My ipod is a good few years old, I did have trouble at first but if I remember right it was something to do with the settings on iplayer.

Thank you for your reply, it kept me trying and with claireyfairy1982's instructions, I've done it. This feels good , imagine how I feel when I start to run!

I have an old shuffle that I used to use before I upgraded, so I'll run through how I do mine to see if it helps, plug it in using the usb and open Itunes, it might open automatically but I'm too impatient lol then in my Itunes library I have the couch to 5k podcasts in the podcast section to the left of the screen , so I click on podcasts find the logo/file for the couch to 5k left click with the mouse and drag it my Ipod name on the left under devices, it then says that it is syncing with my iPod and then updating with the new files. you may have already been to the apple store if so, I hope they helped or this helps :)

Hi claireyfairy1982, I would never have persevered if you hadn't given me the instructions, big thank you. No excuses now off for the run tomorrow come rain or shine. I had to reset my iPod to the factory settings, then I could drag each one into my iPod. When I came to unplug it said I couldn't but I did anyway and there they were. I am clearly meant to start running. Got to keep an eye on the diet too, going to be emir to run if I can drop a stone. Thanks for your help xx
