Week 9 Run2 will now take place on Friday. Please hold me accountable!

It was supposed to be today but after an hour in the gym building strength and flexibility we headed for a walk. I hadn’t quite got it in my head if you’re on a circular walk and you park at the top of the mountain you walk down to a valley you have to walk back up again. 😩😂

15 kms later and my legs, feet really felt it. The walk was stunningly beautiful so no regrets but need a rest today. Tomorrow back to training in the gym hence Friday run. As this time around most of my C25K is on the flat it’s certainly made me aware of muscles I’m not regularly using!

I’m still hoping and planning to graduate at the end of the month. And no statins for me. Doctor has put this down to me modifying my diet and the exercise.

Onwards!

Week 9 Run 2 will have to happen on Friday!

(Just helping with accountability 😏😉)

And what an awesome place to walk! I bet those legs felt it!

Hugely well done and keep on keeping on! You are soooo close to the end … which is just the beginning!

Thank you — it really helps to know you have some people virtually running alongside you.

holding you accountable right now! I’m doing run 1 today with run 2 Friday - therefore please hold me to that account and I’ll do likewise!

I have a three day bad weather warning - peeing with rain today, fingers crossed for tomorrow though - if its just drizzle that's fine if it's what they call the Bomba di Acqua - then no running for me. Still watching you though with my beady eyes😱👍

Go girl you’ve got this , I’ll wait for you to finish first before going out. 🤗

(You’re an hour ahead of us so coffee first) 😂

Seriously proud of you. Not so easy to take the plunge when tipping down. Pun intended!

Seriously cannot tell you how wet it is just having coffee before I go- in the hope that warm wet inside helps me cope with cold wet outside!

What’s the saying in Italy… Piove sul bagnato! In contrast the sun is out here Coffee needed whatever the weather 🙌

Oh yes! Been there, done that.

Picture the scene. It's Sunday 7 July 2013. Andy Murray is playing the final at Wimbledon. It's a beautiful day.

I decide I'm going to do a 9 mile walk, starting at Windy Hill in the Pennines near the M62 junction, and follow a circle that would take me down to Hollingworth Lake and then back up.

Starting at the highest point in your route is dumb.

Doing it in the direction which means the easy slope is done downhill and the really hard slope (Blackstone Edge) is done uphill is even dumber.

Not having adequate quantity of fluids with you on the hottest day of the year is dangerous. I'd brought stuff to drink with me but it was about a third of what I should have.

I almost went into heat stroke. As it is I did it in inappropriate footwear and was rewarded with massive blisters on both feet.

And I started a new job the following day.

I think we both learned some valuable lessons from our experiences!!
