W9R2 - in the rain

Great to see so many people graduating - indicates the number of weeks since New Year resolutions, I guess.

This morning, I stepped outside into unexpected drizzle - did I duck back in? I did not! I bravely sallied forth and soon, blue skies were peeping through the clouds.

One more to go before I step into the post grad world of unknowns. Fingers crossed for Sunday.

Brava as we say - it’s throwing it down here and forecast to stay for three days. Hoping I can pop out and not get drenched tomorrow with Sunday planned to be Run 3 - I’d love to graduate with a fellow old C25ker, especially you.

You’re so committed despite work and weather either of which would give me the flakes - truthfully a running star.

Well done sheps

With a suggestion like that, how can I refuse? We could schedule a timed start and press 'go' together. It's clocks this weekend here so I think that makes us on the same time. Or have I got that the wrong way?

That’s a cracking idea - we do clocks too this weekend so we remain an hour different. The clocks go forward an hour so we lose a hour sleep - then for example you’re running at say 8 and me 9… the problem is how the hell do we make sure we’ve got it right?

That sounds good to me. Press go at eight/ nine to start the warm up walk after the preamble pep talk.

It seems that your clocks also go forward on Sunday so we'll have to work out what time to start.

Yes I think if we get the alarm thing right you go at 8 me at 9 and we will be fine. We could also send each other a message on here when we are awake!

At 1 am in the UK GMT ends and the clocks go FORWARD one hour to British Summer Time, same for most European countries when Central European Summer time starts, good luck for your graduation run.

That’s fantastic — well done to you. I’m just about to put my running clothes on and head out. Hopefully Sunday for me too.

Are you going to join the synchronised run?

MintT profile image

Ooooh that sounds like a great plan — morning? If so that’d be fantastic , for some reason I have a psychological block running in the afternoon!

8 o'clock start in the UK. On the dot. 9 o'clock in Europe.

Great 8 am (really 7am with clocks going forward) Press go for warm up walk?

sheps profile image
shepsGraduate in reply toMintT

Yes that's the plan. After the pre warm up pep talk but before the warm up walk.

shepsGraduate in reply toMintT

Oh are you in the UK or Portugal? If mainland Europe it's a nine o'clock start, see jancanrun in Italy.

I’m in Portugal but same time zone as U.K. All good 😊

That makes geographical sense. You'll know of course 🙂

As long as we don't have to wear silly smiles as we run this is going to be great fun.

Silly smiles only obligatory at the end….

shepsGraduate in reply toJancanrunagain

Yes, and they won't be silly smiles but great, golden, graduation grins.

Very well done...

Are you planning a reward?

The knowledge that I am that woman who can do this is reward enough.
