The day was getting on, I've taken the day off work to get ready for a busy weekend. School run done, meals planned, rooms tidied, washing done, stuff put into loft. Had I forgotten anything? Ahh yes, Poppy was in no doubt -The Run! There's just enough time to fill the washing machine again, get changed, fit in the run and get back before the children are back from school.
I remembered not to rush the warm up walk, knees still a bit creaky - perhaps I should give up and try again tomorrow? "No way" says Poppy "the sun's shining and we're not stopping". The warm up came to an end and we started to jog - take it easy now, Laura says not to rush but to build up the speed gradually. It's the distance that matters, not the speed. As we quicken up I realise I didn't change into the right clothes beforehand. I don't think the singer was referring to boobs when he sang "hold on tight to me!". It was too late to turn back now, but I skulked through the undergrowth making as many adjustments as possible.
Poppy knew which way to go, but we had to keep stopping for her to keep going. Her digestion's been a bit slow since her op. but today was the day when it clearly decided to get back to normal. I switched to my well practised routine of running round in circles. I'd not remembered to tie back my hair either, so with wild hair, unevenly hitched boobs and running dementedly around a dog someone must have thought I was doing a rain dance. The wind got up and the clouds grew dark. Poppy headed for cover and we discovered that someone had decided to smash glass into the wet paths - why do they do that? Grrr. We squelched on through the mud and just home before the heavens opened.
Looking back through my blogs I've done w8 x5 and w9 x1 so I'm declaring this w9r2. Not long to go before graduating now! I promised myself a treat at the end of all this. I think another sports bra might be high on the list. Is there anything else you think essential? (Chocolate is already at the top of the list).
