I had meetings this morning so I thought I would go for my run after them, about 1.00. Luckily the first meeting got cancelled so I could get out at 9. It is getting HOT now. Run 1 I got to a T junction halfway through the first 5 min run and I went down the slope. This time I decided I had to go up the slope. It really is not that steep but it felt it. I did the full 5 mins albeit very very slowly. So pleased with myself and carried on round my circuit. Realised at the start of the second 5 min that this meant I would be going uphill AGAIN!!!! This was a gritted teeth and keep going run. My mind know slopes upwards are good for me but my body is just not there yet. Other runners are so nice, lots of waves, smiles and thumbs up as I struggled up the slope. Support is just so helpful at the start of this journey

Week 4 r2

You think it's hot now? Wait until we hit summer!
You'll find yourself getting out earlier in the day or much later in the day to avoid the heat.
I'm glad it's warming a little as it makes kitting up much easier. I don't have to judge the temperature I'll feel when I'm warmed up, and layer up accordingly, usually overdoing it.
If it's not windy and the thermometer is over 11°C (52°F) I know that tee shirt and shorts will do.
There's a definite camaraderie between runners. As with all groups there are outliers. I've encountered grumpy so-and-sos who wouldn't return a wave or a "good evening", but they're definitely in the minority.
I am an early riser so I will be out about 7 ish once it gets hot. If I do not do it in the morning, it is not going to happen! I had to take my gloves off half way round, I have Reynolds so fingers freeze if it is at all cold. I will change to non thermal running tights now and feel positively daring. Still not ready for T shirt and capris. I am feeling part of a group now both on line and on my route. Thank you for your reply

Runners are great, very encouraging, you are doing well

You are no longer at the start of you journey, almost half way through! I think you know you have cracked it when an uphill obstacle confronts you and you tackle it as opposed to turning around and going for an easier route, Think you have got c25k locked.

Well done you! Remember too, those slopes are your friends... truly... they just hide it well
Excellent —well done. I was once told ‘It’s only a hill, get over it!’ That’s become my mantra ( through gritted teeth I might add!) but always feels good when you are over it!

I bet it was a hill, not a slope! 🤣🤣
my cross country running hubby and I are often discussing what to call all sorts of gradients: they are all hills to me, for him they might be slopes, undulations, elevations…. Yeah right! A hill is a hill and I certainly feel it!
So well done on conquering your own hills!
Supportive runners who knew such a thing existed 🤪 - so now you have virtual and real life helpers on your journey - although just to make clear I do exist and I have it on very good authority that so does everyone else on here. Week 4 is always such a milestone you feel you’re moving on so well done you doing it with slopes too
