2025 is a year of change for me.

Taking a break from work after dedicating myself silly to a role that didn’t suit me.

And I’m back on the road, new creps (Brooks forever), heavier and older. It’s tough. Week 5 run 3 saw me wanting to give up. Tried it again today, didn’t quite run the 20 mins uninterrupted but ran nevertheless for 20 mins; so mixed feelings really.

Rest day tomorrow before I tackle Week 6 or should I stick to Week 5 run 3? 🤔

20 minutes is 20 minutes. I'd go on to week 6, you can always change your mind if you need to but don't be afraid to progress :)

Thank you! Moved onto week 6 this morning. Was not as tough as I thought it would be!

Good for you, surprising yourself (in a positive way) is a wonderful feeling :)

In general my view is: first time round, you stick to the programme so if you don't run continuously in a run segment, you do that again until you can.

Second time round: entirely up to you and your purpose in re-doing C25K. It sounds as though there are two issues - you want running back in your life, but the continuous run is proving a bit of a block. What you *don't* want is to put yourself off and give up altogether, but it does sound as though you are also wanting that boost and sense of pride from completing that session. A knife edge... you know yourself best, you know you *can* run continuously for longer than this - and you know you can walk/run away from situations which aren't right for you. Ditch all the 'heavier and older' thoughts, they are weighing you down.

Thank you - that was a bit of tough love talk which actually resonated in me.

Today was ok, the apprehension is often worse than the actual run.

Feeling ready for my next run!

Oops, wasn't supposed to be read as 'tough' but glad it resonated all the same!

You are doing great!! That is a milestone run.

I think that the choice is yours. If you want to go back and repeat that run so 'it's by the book' do it!; or if you would like to move on - do it!

You'll know what's right for you.

All best - and keep us posted!!

Ended up moving up to Week 6, interval running felt easier this time round.

So feeling quite positive this morning!

Thanks for your kind words
