Week 6 run 3 feeling frustrated at myself

Hey guys first post here, managed week 5 run 3 and was so pleased and amazed that I ran for 20 mins no stopping! But today went for week 6 run 3 and after literally 5 mins had to stop and walk? Then managed another 5 mins walked again. Looked at my phone tracker at the end and my time was still quicker per Km than the 20 min run last week. So obviously I started way too fast and didn’t pace myself - any tips for this? I was so upset I had to walk but I understand now I obviously need to slow but don’t know how!!

Slow down for your next run, have a few days off running, drink plenty of water the day before you run and run it a little slower than you did today.

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and explains the recommended easy conversational pace.......this is about duration, not speed.

Enjoy your journey.

It’s not about goals in speed etc it’s about stamina and completion. Repeat any you didn’t complete and maybe an extra day rest. Don’t forget the post stretches

Get strava and hold your phone. It shows you your live pace. Get to understand what is too quick for you. You should be aiming for 7:00 mins per km or slower in all likelyhood.
