Week 2 day 3 - Done!

Ate something this time think it helped. First run did not like. Then after that was a mix of fine and a bit of a struggle. Also doesnt help when cars don't indicate! Last run I did struggle towards the end. Nervous for week 3! But must have a positive mindset!

A positive mindset is the key to everything (running and non running) :)

A lot of us find our runs difficult when we set off. There is even a name for it - the Toxic Ten. This recognises that as the body makes the transition from not-running to running it needs to make adjustments and these take a little time to happen after the start of the run .

You sort of get used to it. If I feel tired and lumpy at the start of my run I tell myself that it's just Toxic Ten and will soon pass...and it usually does. Something to look forward to when you do the longer runs, you'll be doing most of them in the warmed up state.

Here's to Week 3, you're doing great so far, long may you continue :)

I had forgotten that Toxic Ten - it is a useful one to remember when you have a difficult start - especially on the longer runs when it can seem a long way to the recovery walk. Thanks for the reminder.

Nicely done! And welcome to Week 3.

I think you'll find every run is different depending on weather, the day, and most importantly - YOU.
