Completed the run this morning. Weather lovely and ran by a lake so why oh why did I find it so hard today? 😬 Didn't enjoy it all in fact the whole thing was a struggle. The last run I felt like a gazelle, today more like a hippo! 😨 Still I got round, slowly! 😃😃

Ah but you dug in SuperMouse, you kept going and that's the main thing .

Yes you will have runs that don't feel so good , but take comfort, so do elite athletes sometimes :-)

Just one of those things that happens, all part and parcel of the crazy wonderful world of Running .

Really Well done for today :-) xxx

Thanks for your reply. I shall try an imagine myself as an elite athlete in future and push those pesky hippos out!! :) :)

We all have runs like that and it was a really good description - the gazelle and the hippo 😂. Sometimes it's our bodies and sometimes our heads but on my short journey so far I know I have great runs and awful ones but at least we are getting out there and you did complete it - yay! So well done and onwards to your next run 😀

It can be any number of things why we have good and not so good runs. On this site some say it is natural for the first 5 minutes to be a bit tough because your body has to get used to the idea of running ! your body says "Hang about what's going on here ? I was sitting on the couch this time yesterday !" . So has to get used to the idea. I currently do 5k going inch by inch heading to 6K. I don't worry about the speed .

Take it as slow as you like. Believe me it gets easier and as others have said. But you did it and think how far you've come. I can't believe I used to say at start of C25K to myself " Run for 5 minutes that's impossible". But I feel a great sense of achievement as you must do at doing something you first thought impossible. Being fit and in better frame of mind and long term health benefits into the bargain.

Well done for sticking at it !

I've just been on week 4 run 1. I found it tough.

Those last 5 minutes running are a killer.

Dread run 2.

😱

Slow is good, ànd is all you need. A lovely view and fine weather also help of course 😊

If you take it steady it hopefully won't be such a struggle. It s hot though and that will be a factor

You did it and that's all that counts. Some runs just are hard but we're the better for hanging in there and doing them.

How lovely to have a lake to run round! I've got a man-made pond which is lovely but a whole lake is something else. As to the dissatisfying run, it's Friday. Physically and psychologically it's going to be hard after a busy week. All my most satisfying runs have been on Mondays, after a 2 day break.
