Not checked in for a while - did Week 7 Run 1 earlier. Can’t say I enjoyed it much because I’ve got a cold brewing; but, I did it. Been back at work (work in a school) for 4 weeks now and keep picking up bugs. Literally had a cold, stomach bug, and now another cold. If I got in 3 runs a week from now I’d finish the program in 10 weeks.
What should I do - keep running when not well, or extend to the program further? I’ve already been told that it’s not set in stone, but I don’t want to fall too far behind - seriously, I’ve never stuck to anything fitness related EVER for more than a month.
For example, on Monday I couldn’t have realistically run because I was stuck on the toilet but I went running Tuesday + today and planned to go Sunday. Trouble is, I know I’m going to be full of cold Sunday and can’t imagine it will be that productive. Or should I just force myself to do it?
Sorry, this probably isn’t the clearest post because my head is fuzzy. Any feedback welcome

Oh my goodness... you are having a rought time and in school work, the cycles of one thing after another are frequent, ( I taught , so I know what it is like ).
if you run when you are under par, it is not going to be pleasant,,,and you are less likely to enjoy... hence... you are less likely to want to stick at it.
This is for enjoyment... not for endurance... and if you are ill, that is even more of a reason, not to run. rest up, plenty of nutritous food and great hydration too.
Then... when you feel better. really netter.... head out. The runs wait and so will we. You have had a week out, it takes more than two weeks to lose fitness, ( unless suffering serious debilitating illness or injury), so try to focus all your energy on recovering.
Many of us have been out of action for much longer...
It will be there... and yes, I used to say school would be fine, but without the children. We do out a lot of pressure on uurselve too, working when we really are not fit.
You will start to feel much better for your rest, and if you do feel significantly imoroved, tomorrow, just head out, but, do, please, listen to your body and if it becomes a struggle, then ease back and just walk home
Yeah, I think I’ve got Covid and I only managed yesterday as I was only just coming down with it. 4 weeks until half term so I’ll set that as my target for finishing the next 8 runs I think.
Feel a bit better - not Covid after all. Managed to do W7R2 - thanks for your support. Will go again Wednesday and I’ll only be about half a week behind the program I think
