Week 7 run 1: Mindful running

How is everyone. Hope all your runs are going well.

I’m really struggling to schedule any actual runs this week. It’s really frustrating me. Was hoping to get 1 in tonight before picking son up from childminders but forgot about a meeting after work. Damn you senior leadership for scheduling meetings on my run days!! Can’t get out properly until at least Saturday now. Never mind.

Last night I found a mindful running podcast so I thought I’d just give that a go as an indoor run- by which I mean literally running on the spot and in small circles round my room. Not ideal but it’s all I’ve got right now. Normally run with music (very cheesy 90s back to my teenage years type stuff) wasn’t sure how it would pan out going from backstreet boys / spice girls and Britney to zen and mindfulness. Didn’t think it would give me the same “ooomph”. Turns out - works quite well. Cleared my head, got my week 7 run 1 done and managed a personal best time for a mile (don’t get too excited - 12 mins 24 seconds isn’t going to win me any medals but it’s progress!) would definitely recommend giving it a go. I’m going to try it next time I’m outside running maybe when the guys talking about noticing what’s around you I might be able to notice more interesting than the cobwebs I’ve missed in the corner of the room 🤣

Not sure if I should repeat this run or count it towards my progress and take the next run as run 2? Either way, feels really good to be creeping closer to that week 9 run 3 finish line!!

Onwards and upwards people

Happy running

You fitted it in... you ran and you should move on! Huge well done you!Sometimes life just not let us get the runs ( or other things), in. I wrote a post on this on a past Catch-Up Corner.

You are doing wonderfully...on you go!

Life didn’t stop you… I’d chalk it as a completed run and a huge victory. Great job.

Well done for running - indoors and in circles! And persevering. As a working mum your personal goal can be moved to the back of the queue but you did it so congratulations 👍👏
