Ouch! That was hard, I mean really hard... But I did it!
Due to a twisted pelvis, I've not run now since Tuesday evening - It's now Sunday evening. I *think*, due to this break and lack of consistency in running, that's why I found this run hard; particularly the calves which had not been a problem to me for a number of weeks now.
I'm having regular treatment from a chiropractor about the pelvis and it's certainly helping but I need to stop being so impatient!!! I think I've learnt that regular running is *vital* in order to keep the stamina levels up. I read a post somewhere on here that said you should leave it no longer than three days in between running and I've left it five. No wonder I found this tough because I found W6R3 wonderful in all sorts of ways!
How did everyone else find W7R1?

Well done for the run! 👏👏👏. I found it easier than W6R3 and even had enough left in the tank to increase pace for the last 60 seconds. But I’m now having a break of a few days as I’ve got a pain in my lower back on the right side. I think it’s ok to take a break of up to 2 weeks before you start losing condition, so five days probably wouldn’t have made much of a difference. I’ll make sure I’m pain free before resuming, just hope it won’t be too long as I’m missing it already!
Thanks Jools... Two weeks is good to know! I hope your pain subsides, there is nothing worse - especially when you just want to get out there and go, go, go!!!!
I checked last night as I not heard from you for a while....
you are doing amazing with your pelvis stuff 👏👏👏
My legs definitely felt the 3 chunky runs from week 7 so maybe take 2 rest days if it’s feeling too much... that’s what I’ve said I may do week 8 if I need..
I found W7r1 great but then I found run 2 awful and run 3 challenging! So strange how they go so differently when you do all the same things
I went out today too - the wind was so strong! You would think it helpful when behind you but I was trying to manage pace so I didn’t run out of steam towards the end!..
Tbh I think it’s a mental thing and maybe a little pacing issue as well. The body loses no significant fitness in the first couple of weeks.
I think we tell ourselves about the amount of days which makes us worry and maybe a little tense. Also when it’s been several days it may not be as easy to feel you stride as quickly so maybe run a bit quicker than normal to begin with.
Ps well done for carrying on with what sounds some what painful 😊
Well done for completing...leave gaps if you need your body to repair. You are more important than any programme. However, if you have a gap of 5 days maybe repeat the previous step before going forward...always consolidating slowly moving forward without injury. Happy running 😎🙋🏻♀️👍
