Have just completed Run 3 of Week 9 this morning. It was hard but I am very pleased. Going to move on to the extra runs available and maybe look for a 10K app if anyone has any suggestions?
I have lost zero weight though which I have found a little disheartening π₯Ί

Like you I was a bit disheartened not to lose weight, but in the 3+ years that I've now been running I realise that muscle really does weigh more than fat. I may not be lighter but I sure am slimmer.
The main difference I noticed was that during Week 1 of C25K my bum was wobbling. I even wondered if there was such a thing as a bum-bra!! Not any more, the weight may still be there but the flab is slowly disappearing. Plus, I can run which is the best thing ever!!
Good luck with your future runs and I'm sure you'll see how toned you are if you have a look
I'm using the Nike Running Club app for 10K. I usually use the guided runs with Coach Bennett. He can be a bit corny, but I enjoy the company and he really does give good advice about checking in on form, breathing, and being your own head coach which I've incorporated in my regular running. Take a look.
I haven't checked for weight loss, but I can definitely say that my body has changed from the persistent three runs/week since Feb. I also feel better in myself than I did. And there's the mental 'pride' at these accomplishments. That's a real bonus.
All the best and keep us posted on the next part of your running journey.
Congratulations graduate! Sorry for the late post, I'm away with work so no running for me until tomorrow morning so havnt been on here.
I also found I didnt lose weight when learning to run the first time, I also got really disappointed, running is really not the best exercise for weight loss! However it does change your body shape, you tone yourself and build lean muscle. I didn't think it made a lot of difference to my body but when I look at photos of me from when I was at peak running fitness I was in MUCH better shape! What your putting into your body is as important to what your doing to get fit, something I'm really struggling with. After I complete c25k again in a couple of weeks I'm going to get on the weight loss section on here and get serious about dropping the excess weight I've put on. I'm hoping teaming that, a good diet with regular exercise will get the flab shifted! π€π»
Most importantly I find the regular runs are so good for your mental health as well as your fitness, keep it up your doing brilliantly.
