week 5 run 3 with a total hip replacemebt

Hello again I wasn’t sure I would ever run again following my hip replacement let alone run consistently for 20 minutes!!!!! I have a warm up and warm down programme and strengthening with pilates and swimming which I think is helping. I have also repeated a few of the weeks until I feel more confident. I now run with smaller strides, really hard not to get faster and stride out though. Also all the lovely posts on here and encouragement from everyone about their experiences really helps to put things into perspective thank you everyone. It will be a year post surgery on the 29th of this month so hopefully my x ray will show I haven’t done anything any harm!! My next goal is to run 5 miles in my running club’s annual race. I used to Marshall and help others so will be amazing to run it. I had to leave the running club as I couldn’t run anymore it was heartbreaking at the time, so they will be so surprised to see me. I will probably be last but who cares I’ve realised from my own experience it is definitely the taking part not the winning that matters. I hope I can reach the end of this programme. Take care all
