I have just run for 20 minutes. I can't believe how far I have come in the last 5 weeks. Things I have noticed: (1) I don't get out of breath when running. The programme has taught me how to breath. (2) I actually get excited to run and see what I can achieve. (3) the first three minutes of running are the hardest. (4) My legs need to get stronger (and will) as my runs progress. (5) I have not encountered a physical reason to stop running during c25k. The biggest hurdle is my brain telling me to stop. When that happens I just think to my self, I can still breath and my legs are still moving, so I carry on. This all sounds very easy, but I feel at pains to state that I have not exercised since school, led a sedentary life and sit in a chair all day at work. I'm 53 and I have discovered that it is never too late to learn to run. Looking forward to week 6 and the challenge it brings.
Week 5 run 3.: I have just run for 20 minutes. I... - Couch to 5K
Week 5 run 3.
Well done on running run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs 🏃. 😊
Well done, Twinkle_toes1! That run is a real milestone and I love your attitude for dealing with the tough bits. Keep on keeping on!
Well done! I too completed w5r3 this morning and it is an amazing feeling isn’t it. We’re all doing great 👏🏻
Me too! The best feeling ☺️
Well done !!
Well done!! I just did it too - can’t believe how good it felt! Agreed that the first few minutes are the hardest, but I actually prefer the non stop running to the run/walk combo - once I get into the rhythm it’s somehow easier to carry on rather than walk again!
This is a great run isn’t it! Yes you learn so much by this point 😊 Keep on enjoying 😊
Fantastic, well done you!! 🏃🏼♀️🙌🎉
