After a hectic week I really didn't feel I could tackle the infamous w5r3, so I decided I would just repeat run 2, but with 4 minutes walking between runs instead of 5. Once I reached the end of the first 8-minute run, I realised that I was in fact feeling ok to continue, so, I decided I would cut out the walking section altogether and run for 16 minutes.
Well this seemed much less scary than the the full 20 minutes of a run 3, so I happily continued with my very slow run.
Well, I'm sure you can guess what happened next! Yup, got to the sixteen minutes mark and thought, Blow it, I've got this far, surely I can keep going another 4 minutes?
Reader, I could!๐ So delighted to be officially half-way. And this morning, I did the first run of week 6, which I last ran a year ago. Keeping everything crossed again๐ค

I hope so BC! This time last year I got to week 7 and then I kicked the leg of my bed and put myself straight back on the IC so I'll not be counting any chickens ...
Isnโt that just the way if it? You are doing fine, and you fall over a branch, or a dog, or kick a rock โฆ.or even a bed. Maybe we should only have two sorts of footwear; running shoes and hobnail boots!
Good for you! That is awesome. I know how frustrating it can be. I got to week 9 run 2 and then flu, then Covid, then bronchitis. After all that I went back to week six but was not able to manage it. Now it appears that I am going to have to go right back to week 1. I was disheartened by this but as someone else said on here, it is the chance to go back, have fun going through the process again and to build back up properly. Good for you for sticking with it. I am sure you will be able to smash it! ๐
Oh no that's even closer than I got last time, how frustrating! All those illnesses really take a while to clear, covid I think is the sneakiest. The fatigue really lingers and can unexpectedly flare up again, but take your time and listen to your body. The surprises are sometimes good ones.
