I did it but really felt sick towards the end. It was only 1 min to go so kept going but boy was I glad when I could start walking again. My breathing finally settle about half way through. I thought the new shoes....yeah! .....were making me run faster! I got the end to check on strava and it hadn't recorded. "Rude words here". I thought I'd pressed play but nor recording for today at all. Any ideas?

I’ve had that experience with new shoes so many times! I think they give you a confidence boost which can make your pace speed up. Glad you were able to settle it down. Perhaps for your next run, really focus on keeping it comfortable. We live pictures of shoes here if you want to share your newbies!

Tech is wonderful until it isn’t. Sometimes there’s no obvious reason for it and logically you know your legs still did it so it doesn’t matter that it wasn’t recovered. That doesn’t always stop the rude words though! I’ve had a little tantrum in a country lane on more than one occasion!! I don’t use strava so I can’t comment on what might have gone wrong but I hope it behaves itself next time.

My other shoes had very little cushioning. They were bought for a different kind of movement. These new ones felt lovely and bouncy! Maybe too bouncy.I will have to just watch my speed again. I might do that last run again on a different route. The one I just did had two hills in it. I could just do one and more flat running. I'll see how that goes. Thanks for the advice.

Well done on getting to the end. Soo frustrating isn't it when you forget to click start. It won't be the last time either 🤣.

It really is so easy to go a bit too fast, especially when confidence is high and you have a lovely new pair of running shoes. I think we've all done it at some point.

A key learning point ...... dont push the accelerator too hard 👍😊

Thanks for that info. I'm just wondering if I should change the route and not include two hills. I might just do that.😃

You really really really really should not be feeling "sick towards the end" unless you were feeling unwell to begin with.

That's a sign of too much strain, i.e. you're trying too hard and going too quickly.

I imagine you were out of breath as well?

Again, look at this and look how 'hard' they're at it and how much 'strain' they're under 😉

Thank you for that info. I think I just wanted to finish. All settled down very quickly and had no sickness on the next run.
