WEEK 5, RUN 3 - COMPLETED!!!!

Such a milestone. After completing, run 2 of week 5 with the 8 minute blocks, I was really ready for Laura to tell me stop running, so I really thought that there was no way I'd be able to run for the full 20 minutes of run 3. After running for a while Laura began to speak and I really though she was going to say I'd been running for 8 minutes, however, when she said I'd been running for 5 minutes, I started to think, oh no, really don't think I can do this, however, further in Laura tells you that our fitness should be ready to take to 20minute jog and that it's about getting your mind used to running for longer blocks on time, and once I took in this information and really thought about how tired I was actually feeling, I realised that I can do this and kept going to the end, albeit abit redder and more puffed out than unusual. Bring on week6 :-)

Congrats on your Week 5 Run 3, I braved this as well today and got through as well. I hit the wall at minute 15, felt slightly sick, but speaking to my brother in law (Who is a marathon man) he said that this happens when the carbs are exhausted and the body starts to run on the fat to burn. Not a nice sensation but was over quickly meaning that I could focus on minutes 17 - 20.

The C25K is an amazing thing, and as an overweight 40 year old I wasn't able to run 1 minute let alone 20 minutes. Now to look forward to week 6!
