I had to abort Run 2 Week 6 today

I had to abort Run 2 Week 6 today. How do I go back to the plan? Shall I repeat today's run or start from the first run of Week 6?Also, I might be able to run again on Monday. I was supposed to do Run 3 of Week 6 on Friday but due to upcoming travel and setback today, I am planning to start again on Monday. Until then what should I do to be able to start again on Monday on a strong note?

🍏Hi Ramani first of all welcome and well done starting the program. I will post you a link to some useful information about How to make the most of it! Ramani why don’t you start week 6 again on Monday then you will be back on track with your runs. In the meantime if you have time with travelling etc get a few short walks in & do some strength & flex exercises. Keep well hydrated with travelling. Let us know how you get on!

Some runs go like that and it can be a really strong decision to stop. What happened on your run today? It’s worth thinking it over in case you can make some changes to give you a good chance of having a better run next time. Sometimes it really is just one of those days with no obvious reason for it! Week 6 is notorious for catching people out. The intervals come at awkward times and throw you off your rhythm and if you’re like me, after the triumph of week 5 run 3, you go off a big too fast and burn out! Loads of us have been there.

I’d just repeat run 2 on Monday and carry on through the programme. You could repeat week 6 run 1 or any another programme run you enjoyed if you’d rather go into it again having had a little confidence boost, but there’s no need to unless you want to. Sometimes some extra rest can actually be helpful. You might like to look at the strength and flex board for some exercise suggestions that will support your running and could potentially be done in a hotel room. I often do body weight exercises when I’m away or take a couple of resistance bands with me which weigh very little and take up no valuable packing space!

Good luck for next time. There’s to reason to think this is anything more than just one of those days if you’ve had a good run through the programme so far. Hopefully you’ll be back with a positive update!

Don't overthink it.

Your next run should be Week 6 Run 2.

And then carry on from there.

Enjoy.

Thank you all for the encouragement. I back after the travel and finished Week 6 Run 1. I will attempt Run 2 on Thursday and excited about it.
