After completing the 20 minutes at the end of week 5, I found week 6 runs 1 and 2 really difficult. I usually run on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. But then I caught a cold and didn’t do run 3 on Thursday. I felt rubbish and had a really sore throat, felt the same yesterday.
After feeling a little better today I thought I’d better force myself out, I’d really lost momentum after missing Thursdays run and I felt so tired, out of routine. Still I forced myself to go out feeling sure I wouldn’t be able to finish.
I did it, I even picked up the pace for the last 3 minutes or so. I just think this programme is so amazing. Even though I’m still a few weeks off graduating, if someone had told me 6 weeks ago I’d run for 25 minutes, I’d never have believed I could.

Same stage. It’s amazing isn’t it? Felt exactly the same way about W6r1&2 at the end of strength then knee killed me. Today W6R3 and like a gazelle. Well if a gazelle was a bit slow and red....
And you did it with a cold, how awesome are you! 😁...I run on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday too, I'm a bit further on than you and did my 1st 5K today...come to think of it, we're both pretty awesome 😂🏃♀️🏃♀️
Well done for battling on through! I felt exactly the same - having hated and struggled with running when I was younger I thought it would be a miracle if I ever got up to more than 15 minutes at a go! And 6 months on from graduation I am still amazed that I can actually still run - it's something I'm determined to keep doing now, as well as something I've come to (kind of!) enjoy... (well I enjoy the downhill bits, and the after-glow lol) ; )
It's always good to come on here and hear other people experiencing some of the things I did - so thanks for sharing this : )
