I have been loving my running adventures but slowly started to develop a pain in my right foot. I am pretty sure it is plantar fasicitis as I have had it before but I also now have a pain on the top of the same foot. I think it is probably related to pf as I might not have been walking properly and protecting the heel pain.
But ouch! Very much missing my running adventures and not sure when this is going to go away.

Oh dear poor you :"( ... Guess what? I am also ochey-ing today too. Posted - but somehow it didn't save .... cba d to write it again ... laydown on Infamous Couch and ate M&S treats ... mix of frustration and sadness :"( ... rest up and hope you and I both heal soon ... (mine is Achilles tendon I think. Would have been W2R3 for me).
I’m sorry to hear that, it’s so painful! Does your heel hurt after inactivity like when you get out of bed? I’m recovering from it. A podiatrist gave me some tips which are helping. Before you get out of bed get a long strap like a dressing gown tie. Put it behind the ball of your foot . Hold onto the ends, keep your leg straight and pull feeling a stretch along the back of your leg. Hold for 10 secs and repeat 10 times.
Place a golf or tennis ball under the arch of your foot and roll it backwards and forwards. I hope that helps. Wishing you a speedy recovery and return to running.
Thank you so much! I will definitely try anything at the moment. Getting started is definitely the worst time. Currently sitting with an ice pack under the sore heel.
Oh BahamaMama, so sorry to read this! 🙈 I find that foam rolling my feet helps with the pain, along with using a resistance band for stretching like Orangemini11 suggested. Hope you get it sorted soon and can get back to running. Virtual hugs sent your way 🤗🖤
Aaah I feel you, I've had to stop running for the mo hence why I had disappeared from here. I was just about to embark on week 8 and my PF (I think) was just so painful. I've now got an appointment booked just to make sure it is that as it was a pain in a different place to normal but I think I've been walking strangely to componsate. Chatted to a helpful lady prior to booking the appointment at my "foot" place and she said she finds (she was of similar age 27 but mid fifties 🤫) that us runners need to be doing something else alongside the running to strengthen. She suggested pilates, yoga or some sort of aqua-fit. I do walk a lot which I've had to scale down too with my PF though walking it feels good until I stop and then try and start off again. Do you other lovely people do anything else alongside? I can't be doing classes, I shift work, mainly nights. I know I'm 3 years older than when I did C25k last time but I am really struggling with niggles this time. I so want to get back out.
Hello Daith. I do yoga and Pilates and also some strength training. Have you been over to the S&F forum? There’s lots of links and posts to workouts that can be done. I know that Yoga with Adriene is a good YouTube channel for yoga, it’s quite popular and there’s lots of videos to choose from. I’ll get the links for you…
Aaah thank you - the first time round I was doing some yoga so maybe I should build that back into my routine. Good to have you back and thanks once again.
