Into my final week and 2 firsts for me.... 1/ running on ice. Never had that experience before. Not serious ice, but you know when the pavements are starting to glisten with frost? 2/ I'm hobbling around. Never had this after a run. My left Achilles is feeling very tight and I'm struggling to bend my foot without discomfort. Quite sure it will pass after a bit of rest, but I think I'll be taking 2 rest days before my next run.
Nearly there! 2 runs away.
Happy running everybody

Be very careful!! Don’t get injured now you’re so close! Try smaller strides I read a few days ago that it’s supposed to help - I only have a small stride anyway I think I’m scared of slipping in sludge! So now I’m going to say it to everyone might not make a difference but it’s worth a shot . 1 down 2 to go so get plenty of rest and ice it ?? (I’m not a doctor I have no idea) You can do it Mig 💪💪😁
Oh I don’t know think I might enjoy escaping the madness. I usually drink while cooking so it’s going to be before that starts. I’m not a big drinker but on Christmas Day I make an exception 🎅🎄🎅🎄
Oooh, be careful - I expect you were a bit tense due to the ice. With only 2 runs to go until qualifying you don't want to be laid up. Take extra time, maybe planning what's next in your running plan.... ⛸🎿🛷
You are so close now so please pick your days and times to be safe. 👍 Rest days are so important to look after that tendon. Mineral Ice maybe? I hate slippy surfaces as they make me run weirdly! Perhaps that affected your run without realising it. Don’t let Christmas Day be the Holy Grail 🙏. Take care Mig
Once the ankle stops hurting u can try AHeel strengthening exercises. They work well. Whenever mine plays up I don't run again until there is no pain when walking. Sometimes that's a week but Im 10 yrs older than u. We're about to do Wk9 run 1 at similar times. Nice!
Oh no so close. Take extra rest and sure you'll do it. I'm hoping to be done by Christmas as well. 2 runs to go. I would love to run Christmas day, by 20 to feed. Think I'll run away after. 🙆🏼♀️🥃🎄
OMG, I cringed when I read this, but after I read the whole thread the cringing eased....... I have everything crossed that it’s just a tweak and the rest sorts it out. I’m so looking forward to seeing you graduate 😁
The extra day off should help. I'm almost certain that when "Graduation Day" rolls around, nothing will stop you from doing it (I went out in a torrential May downpour to complete mine).
Just be careful with the underfoot conditions; those fallen leaves can hide any number of less than pleasant surprises.
