I'm loving running but not loving athletes foot which is causing a lot of pain between fourth and little toe on one foot. Any pressure from shoes at all on that toe is very painful and spooling running! Im trying some athletes foot powder but any other advice will be gratefully received!

Athletes foot-ouch!
Speak to your pharmacist about the best treatment, explaining you're running.
Maybe different fabric socks or shoe liners could help?
Not sure about short-term alleviation, hopefully it heals soon xx
I got it and used Lamisil. Epsom salts in a post run bath will also help. Dry between your toes
Have some shoe/sock free time to get some air to your feet ☺
Now, don't laugh, but my husband has a miracle treatment for this! He suffered for over 20 years - the Lamisil would get rid of it but then it would come back within 6 months. The thing that finally did the trick is .............. Vicks Vapour rub (or non-branded equivalent)! He rubs it on before getting into bed if he gets a little tingle and it's sorted by morning. We're told tea tree oil does the same.
Good luck - I hope it works for you (if you don't think I'm bonkers enough to try it).
Have you tried wearing Injinji or similar toe socks? They resolved all my toe related problems.
Thanks for all the replies. I'm intrigued by the Vicks vapour rub and will give this a go if the powder doesn't work. The toe socks sound interesting too. I ran 10k first thing today in old trainers which was ok but made the mistake of going for a walk later in new trainers-agony!!!
Try spraying your shoes as well with the athlete's foot stuff. That's something my pharmacist recommended when I picked up af a few weeks ago - I suspect after a trip to the swimming pool. I hope it clears soon. I was intrigued to hear about the tea tree and the Vicks!
