Today after nearly 3 months I completed the final run. I had saved todays run as a release after a family bereavement. It felt so good just to get out there and let the stress melt away. It was a grey but dry morning and just being on my own felt like the best tonic. I cannot recommend this programme enough and I would promote it as a wellness boost. To all my virtual team mates and coaches it goes without saying that you have been the support and inspiration for me to complete this part of the journey. I will continue to do the consolidation runs and try and improve on the 3.75km I did today. I will not manage the 5Km in 30 mins but I am happy and proud for finishing the challenge. Thank you 🏃🏻♀️
I have finally done it!!: Today after nearly... - Couch to 5K
I have finally done it!!
Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 9 and graduating from C25K, well done, now go and celebrate your wonderful achievement with 🍷 and cake 🎂 👍
Congratulations that’s some achievement and you’ve found the stress reliever in being able to run,
Thank you WillowandSola who knew that pounding the streets was soo fantastic. Totally amazed!
Congratulations on completing. I don't think the distance you run is really as important as the time you run for. I guess I am about half your age and it took me a very long time to get sub 30 mins for a 5K, definitely a way from it when I finished the C25K.
Enjoying yourself, keeping fit and active and avoiding injury are the important bits.
Good luck with your running.
Thank you Gottalmprove you are very right it is time and not distance that is key. It is encouraging to know that there are others who take a little longer to reach the distance 😊
Reaching 5K was not too hard, getting it below 30 minutes took a long while but was not necessarily an aim of mine. With increasing the distance I hit a barrier at about 8K and found I needed to regulate my speed better as my times for 5K were all over the place. Once I had conquered that, my 5K times came down.
