I’ve started c25k and am looking forward to week 2 run 2 tomorrow. Just a post to say hello 👋

I’ve always been that person who said cardio was awful and I can’t run but then I got it into my head to do this, and the thought kept coming so I said I’d give it a go!

To my surprise I’m loving it. That feeling when you get to the end of a run is amazing, the accomplishment of actually running is amazing and the endorphin rush is doing great things for my mental health.

Happy to be here and looking forward to graduating and being *gasp* a runner 😂 something I never thought I’d say.

I'm redoing the programme for the third time - injuries sidelined me twice since first graduation back in '16 :) I applaud your attitude - I took it all so darn seriously first time around, full of doubt and apprehension as I had never run more than a hundred steps or so in my life :) Very best wishes to you and yes, take it slow and steady and you absolutely will graduate and absolutely will be a Runner :) Wishing you many happy miles in your future :)

Congratulations on starting C25K with week 1 and run 1 of week 2, welcome to the forum, take all the runs slowly, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, no running on consecutive days as that could cause a injury, good luck for your running journey with C25K, onwards and upwards to run 2 of week 2 tomorrow.

Welcome, to one of the best things that you have probably ever done, ( so far:)

Please do check out the essential reading before heading out again, ( unless you already have)... a lot to take in, but so, worth it:)

As you can see there are folk here, repeating this.. that is how super it is!

Slow and steady is the way, listen to your body all the time, keep posting for loads of support and advice too... and above all, simply , enjoy!

I’m making sure to jog slow and not bothering trying to get speed yet, I’ve recently quit smoking so my lungs couldn’t cope with that anyway, just happy to be moving and feeling good 😊 after watching the slow jog video I’m actually going to try and go slower on my run today and see how that works out for me Thank you!

Well done...really pleased for you. I am re-doing the plan for the fourth time but that's because it definitely works. A steady approach that gets you there and you can have fun with.

Well done you. I was the same, I've been saying for the last 40+ years that I can't run and hate any sort of cardio exercise but I was bullied into giving it a try (by a nurse who I will be forever thankful to) and here I am starting week 7 and absolutely loving it. Stick to the plan and enjoy the process 😊
