Tough going, post graduation.

Did the w9r3 on Sunday morningšŸ˜€, and went out Tues pm for my first consolidation runā˜¹. It was a little bit warm but I felt heavy and sluggish, and was glad to finish the 30 minutes. Tired yesterday and a bit of low back pain today. Will take another rest day and see how it goes.

It is very warm out there, and that makes running difficult.

You don't need to do a 30 minute run every single time during consolidation. I'd suggest a minimum of one 30 minute run a week, and a minimum of 15 minutes per run on the other days.

Obviously that won't have as much of an effect as doing three 30 min runs per week, but that's better than getting disheartened because every run's a slog.

That can happen post graduation, warm weather doesn't help so make sure you keep up your hydration.. You done well to finish the 30mins. Nowster made good suggestion..

I was expecting every run to be brilliant post graduation but I had a series of real turkeys. Well done for finishing it. Mixing things up with some shorter runs, new routes, intervals, no tech etc could be a good way to go. Or the Nike Run Club app has lots of guided runs that could be suitable. Iā€™ve been really enjoying their recovery runs.

Iā€™m sure there were some runs that felt less good than others during the programā€¦itā€™s normal for that to happen after graduating too. Donā€™t let it get you down. Good luck for your next run after some good recovery days.

Well done.

We have in the past had a Consolidation Club on this forum to try to give support to new graduates who are struggling.........it is not an uncommon experience.

Just keep it simple. Mix up your runs and play with nice slow pace, (as that is the one you want to be doing at least 80% of your running at)
