w1r1 done with the missus, I might add that this isnt the first time of starting c25k for us.. We had laid off running for around 6 months, so a gentle start back required.

It's what we expected, found quite hard, but percivered and got it done, now looking forward to R2.. And in time getting back into Parkrun.. ☺️

Hi davelinks that great you are back on the program again with your better half 😀 I have been trying to get hubby to start but he still has no interest other than going from couch to chair. Even if I do get him started I don’t think I could run with him I like my own pace and I’m liking my own space too.

Good for you, enjoy! It took a while for my wife to be convinced by c25k at first, but she saw how I had benefitted on it, and when she wanted to start c25k I went through the programme again with her.

😊

"Must be Spring" sounding sardonic there OF, even snails do a so called Winteringup, no, they don't hibernate as such, and we all go through life's setbacks and blips.. ☺️

No! I didn't mean that! The last time we spoke you said it would be the Spring when you started again.. that's what I meant.. like a joke?Hope I didn't offend you!!!!

I do know what you mean about setbacks and blips though... they keep showing up too!

You have had more than a fair share... and some of mine keep rearing their head and having me ducking for cover!

It's great to have you back!!!

No, you could never offend me floss.I think words can sometimes look different to what was actually meant when written.. Yes, I now recall saying I'll start back in the Spring.. Sorry to have caused any stress.. ☺️🤣

We are out for w1r2 a bit later.. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️😅

Just take it gently. When I repeated it 2020...it seemed impossible...at first! Well done both xxx

Well, we've got through w1, my thoughts are playing me up though, pesky gremlins are saying you're too old to be doing this and knees feel slightly uncomfy (keep forgetting to wear my knee supports!) have still got to start w2, will have to give myself a kick to get going.. 😞🙄Had planned to suss out a local Parkrun today new to me and Sue (just a brisk walk) what with the good weather but that never came off as anxiety kicked in overnight..😴😴

Oh gosh... and those thoughts are the hardest things to deal with!

Well first things first. You did Week 1. HUGE well done you, BOTH of you!x

So, next; where do we go from here?

The knee supports...just put them into your running shoes or on your running gear...where you cannot miss them.

Check out our Catch -Up Corner post on the three As. Lots to think about there.

Makes sure you are doing some rest day exercise to help with the blinking aches and pains and twinges which beset us as we mellow:)

Loads of links on the S and F Forum including my entire running body post!

Ease back on any kind of overthinking, ( look where that got me )!

You need to start Week 2...but when you are ready for it. I am running tomorrow morning... maybe you could too? Choose a route, plan it... set all the gear out and then just go.

Slow and steady, as ever. You can do this :)
