The snooze gremlins got me this morning. πΏπ€ so it had to me a lunchbreak run.
It was cold, damp and misty out and I really didn't feel like it - energy levels were really low and I almost didn't go. This is the first time I haven't been enthusiastic about going for a run since I restarted c25k.
I kitted up and started my dynamic warmup routine. Then my boss rang me. By the time I finished the call, completed my warmup and faffed around a bit more it was much later than I'd intended.
It's run 5 minutes, walk 3 minutes, run 5 minutes, walk 3 minutes, run 5 minutes today.
Oh my goodness!!! That second 5 minute run was so laboured and was actually slower than both my warmup and cooldown walk!!! π₯΅
However, come the third and final run interval I felt better, and was almost easing into things by the time Denise Lewis told me to slow down to a walk.
By the time I got home I had just enough time to log back onto the laptop and open Zoom, before the start of my conference call. Thankfully I only had to listen to a presentation, so did my post-run stretches in front of the laptop - double checking to make sure my webcam was switched off. π
The photos were taken last week - in much better weather - on a walk through a different part of the wood which has also been coppiced.

Iβm glad things perked up for you Birdlady64 in the third interval! It made me laugh re the stretches and checking the webcam - I can imagine that featuring on YouTube somewhere if not!
Sadly, most of the Zoom calls I'm in I have to be visible. And I keep cutting it very fine with the run timings too.
My "really didn't like it" run in C25K was the W4R3 one in drizzle. In contrast, the W5R1 one was on a bright, fresh summer morning, and that really lifted my spirits.
First time round it was mostly nice summer weather and I used to run after work so no time pressures.I don't really like running in my lunchbreak as I find it quite stressful
Well done for sticking to your run day today, despite the delays. I expect the late start and lack of energy impacted a bit. But by the end your energy had returned, so that's great. Looks like a beautiful run too!
Pesky gremlins, they have been visiting me too π . And zoom meetingsβ¦β¦yes probably a good idea to turn off the camera π. Lovely photo. Weβve had some lovely crispy, frosty mornings here in Somerset- love bright sunny winter days π
Well done getting out there, I find January to February the hardest time to stay motivated. That first week 5 run does challenge your stamina I think - the 3 minute walk, while you need the recovery time, is also long enough to make starting the second run feel particularly hard work.
