I started and finished the course but have lapsed completely and have not run for a year. I really want to get back into the routine but do no more than think about it. Should I re-do the Couch to 5k or perhaps start at week 4?

After a year you would be well advised to start from week 1It will be the best way to regain your fitness with minimum risk of injury

Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision.

We are all capable of doing way more than our bodies are conditioned to do, but not without increasing our injury risk. Sticking to gently progressive training plans is the safest way to push our limits, whilst gently increasing our resistance to injury.

Injury often strikes out of the blue and can stop you for days, weeks or even months.

I have had to redo C25k several times and would recommend starting from scratch...........it works.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.
