Starting week 8 run 1 today! Nervous and hope I can do it. Do the extra 3 minutes make it really hard??

I think you need to change your mindset. Approaching any run with doubt in your mind is counterproductive.

This FAQ post about mental approach may help healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Trust the plan and have faith in the ability of your amazing body to adapt and develop. You can do this, so just believe it.

No. Try framing it differently: why would it be difficult to run for three minutes when you can already do 25?

I find it helpful to break longer runs down into smaller, easily achievable sections in my mind. I also prefer to count down what I've done, rather than add on what I still have to do. So 28 minutes isn't 25 plus aargh three minutes more to do, it's 25 minutes done wow only three to go.

Happy runnning!

You have some good advice here already !You have already run for 25 minutes 4 times !!

You will smash another 3 !

When you get to 25 think about these replies , by the time you have thought about them your time will be over !

It's all mind games now as you are physically able !

Enjoy

Hello it’s not hard at all and I found if I didn’t look ahead to the next run I just did each one as they came along, staying present rather than imagining what it would be like. Keep telling yourself how well you’ve done and like everyone else says think of the positive, how much you are helping your mind and body. I never thought I’d become a runner and if I can do it honestly you can too and enjoy the enormous sense of achievement you’ll get when you graduate. I smile to myself often when I think of that day . Keeeep running 🏃‍♀️
