Decided to go out a bit later today and do a longer warm up, so did a 20 minutes brisk walk with Laura joining me for the last 5. As the screen shot shows my best running is from 2k to 4k when I'm properly warmed up. I averaged 6.26 pace which equates to a 31.30 5k so not at my target 30 minutes 5k yet. To any of you just starting out on C25K keep persevering don't give up, I hadn't run for about 30 years prior to starting this and really struggled to run a minute in the first weeks and here I am 2 months later running for 28 minutes and not out of breath at the end of it.
Week 8 Run 1: Decided to go out a bit later... - Couch to 5K
Week 8 Run 1
Great work hatter! Good idea to do a longer warm up. Iโm doing my w8r2 tonight after work
Let me know how it goes , as we've more or less done this side by side I think we need to tie in the final run next week and run at roughly the same time, I'm varying my running times so can fit in accordingly. What do you reckon?
Sounds like a good idea, I think my last run will be next sat morning, how do you feel about that?
I'm always confused by this Saturday and next Saturday so do you mean 15th or 22nd?
๐ it will be 22nd. I will be doing an early run before I get weighed
Perfect, how was today's run?
Really enjoyed it. Managed to get into a good rhythm and loved being out today ๐
That's good, it's certainly getting easier now and more enjoyable. Got some really low tides here this week so I'm planning on running Wednesdays 28 minute run actually down on the sand.
Huge well done you!
PS
Sometimes, even now, my warm up is as long as my run
I want your stats. Just saying! ๐ฉ
Seriously, thatโs amazing - well done you! Youโre well on the way to graduating with flying colours! ๐๐๐๐
That's some excellent split times, around a minute per k quicker than mine! At this rate, you're gonna smash your graduation run, keep it up!
Nice post. The sub 30 minute 5k will come in good time. I managed mine soon after graduating and have since done it in under 24 mins.
