Well it's in the books! Tried to go wrong, woke up really late didn't leave the house until 07:30, Broad daylight, people everywhere! Deciding to go all in and went to the public park, ran past lines and lines of cars on the way, felt like every man and his dog was staring... Head up, shoulders back, smile and keep on running! I chose an 80s soundtrack today to mix it up a bit, "don't stop believing" at the halfway mark made me smile and got me up a really nasty hill 😂 and broke into a small dance at the 3/4 stage when Footloose kicked in! 🤣
Also turns out it's the uphill sections that set my knee off! The usual pain kicked in on the slope but thankfully went away once I'd reached the top, hopefully it's a sign of whatever that pain is is strengthening as usually that pain would have continued until I stopped running.
I think il continue 80s theme for the rest of week 8 (week 80s?🤣) as it's a nice change of pace.
The park was also a nice change, despite people 🤣 so may give that the rest of the week too though there's a horrible rumour I have to go to work on both of my next running days so that's gonna mess with my routine big time but not gonna stress gonna be flexible and accept that I can't have routine all of the time! 🤣
Good luck all running today, you will do it!

I used to hate the idea of people staring at me too. I truly don’t think anyone really notices and if they do they’re probably saying something like, ‘look at that person bettering themselves with fitness’ 👏🏼
Doesn’t bother me in the slightest now. 😎
You’ve got this programme in the bag! Keep doing your thing, just 5 runs to go! 🏁🏆🤩
Well done Jericho - looks like a good run - that's nearly 4.5k in 28 minutes - which to me looks really fast.
I had 'Footloose' pop up during my run yesterday too - I was very tempted to break-out into some kind of dance/jog hybrid but settled with just singing along in my head!
Hey, well done on your first run into Week 8! You are doing so well.. Hope your knee niggle doesn’t get any worse, stretching is key now I think for us all as we increase the distance. Well, no running for me this week until Thurs. I’m away hiking in Devon and Dartmoor so taking life at a different pace for a few days and running around where we are is just not an option (unless you were mad or a fell runner). Great you got the 80s tunes on, my favourite and probably time I got back to them after a bit of 90s dance music nostalgia 😀 Week 8 sounds so ‘grown up’ now, week 7 run 3 next up for me. In the meantime, keeping pretty active but dare I say it, really missing my early morning runs (no people, no dogs and no cars to ruin it..so agree with you there!)
