Hi, we all have runs which don’t go to plan, so don’t worry about it. Just redo the run when you’re ready, perhaps in a couple of days and maybe earlier in the day. I prefer to run in the morning when it’s cooler if I can.
I wouldn’t vary your route if you’re used to it, unless it’s particularly difficult or something has changed with it. You’ve already proved to yourself that you can run it after all.
Have another go when you’re ready, slow down if you need to and think how you’ll feel once you’ve managed it🙂👍
Everything going on in our lives can impact on our performance as a runner. Restedness, hydration and nutrition are at the top of my list of variables that need to be optimised to enable enjoyable running.
As a runner you need to drink a minimum of 2.5 -3 litres of fluid each and every day, running or not, as mentioned in the guide.
Have a rest day, hydrate well and fully, as per guide, and give it another go at a cooler time of day, possibly on a familiar route and with a good dose of positivity.
Yep totally agree with what David said 👆. I had to repeat a week 5 run quite a few times, so don't be disheartened. But make sure you complete it before moving on to the next run. Rest for a day or two and get back on it 😉
Oh my lovely! I’m no expert (by a long run!) but I’d say don’t beat yourself up about it! You do 26 mins! Think back at how far you’ve come and be proud of what you’ve achieved!you still added another run under your belt and that must count for something (if just the calories you burned!)
I say, well done, give it another go at a cooler time and give yourself a huge pat on the back! Xxx
Thank you so much. You’re right, I need to look at my successes (8 weeks ago I couldn’t even run for 2 minutes in a row!!!) and focus on how to move forward. Lovely support from you and the C25K community...it really helps! Xx
Go out early in the morning, I run at 6am. To run 26 mins in this heat is an achievement in itself 🥵....an early morning run in the cool clean air....you’ll do it no problem 👍
