Just a brief update to say I managed to complete my final week 6 run today. I really enjoyed it.
I've been taking it easy with my scheduling (I ran Thu/Sun/Wed this week) as I was starting to feel my ankle niggles again - after having a biomechanical assessment it turns out my feet turn out (abduction) a little more than normal which has been putting strain on my ankles. Luckily I didn't need anything to correct the issue but I can now be mindful of it and alter my foot placement when running to compensate. I tried this during my run this morning and the difference it has made to my ankles, post run, is brilliant. I had to concentrate more on my feet during the run, which will take some getting used to, but I felt pretty good for the full 25 minutes.
Beautiful morning today (after yesterday's rain) and with a stressful time at work being back to running, and being back out in the countryside, is really helping with my state of mind. I hope everyone is having a great week so far. SD

Thankfully your problem can be corrected with a bit of mindful running ....... And I know how hard that can be , I am doing a lot of relearning about how I use my body at the moment to help it repair ... Running manages to take the stresses of the world of your shoulders for a while..... It really should be prescribed by the doctor. ..
Good post from you SD, congratulations on completing run 3 of week 6, you are now OFFICIALLY a RUNNER, onwards and upwards to week 7 which are all 3 /25 minute runs.
Hi-Well done for getting through week 6 and hopefully solving your injury problem by the sounds of it. Getting out in the fresh air stops you thinking about work- you’re too busy thinking how tired you are! The next couple of weeks will sail by-to week 9 and beyond-going well! 👍🏻🦌
Cheers Bambi - it is great for the mind - that's what I missed the most when I stopped, just being able to switch off from everything else. How're you getting on? 🦌🦌
Hi, I’m doing ok thanks, just been a bit lazy I think and sticking to the 5K’s - need to start cranking the numbers back up -might need a bit of a target to aim for as I tend to get bored on the longer runs. The big 5-0 is looming at Christmas so that might be the kick up the bum I need! 😁
A target might be a good idea, it's always good to have something to aim for, but you've been running for over a year now - that's brilliant 🦌💪
I'm lucky to work from home, it most be so much harder for you and your job. I know how demanding being a teacher can be. Are you still mostly running in the evenings?
👍 well done SD 🤩 beautiful photo too, I’m hoping I’ll enjoy my runs ‘during’ too at some point, I love the cool down bit and the feeling after tho which is fantastic 😀
Thanks CP 😀 The enjoyment bit during isn't always there - it's as if everything needs to click in to place. We used to call it our gazelle running moments, where you feel as if you're running almost gracefully along, not worrying about anything else and it certainly doesn't matter about speed or pace but just running within yourself and living in the moment! 🦌
