Graduated Today!!

It was a humid wet day with non stop drizzle. For some daft reason I felt apprehensive as it was my last run but nevertheless, I just got on and ran. Once I got in my stride everything felt ok and despite the drizzle, I managed to run 2.5 miles stripping out the warm up and cool down walks. Now I feel chuffed that I’ve completed to program and wish to thank Laura, my coach, and all the other coaches for that matter, for their encouragement. The C25K program works and I would encourage anyone to do it. I even remembered to take a photo before my run!!

Well done!

What's next? Will you carry on running?

in reply tobackintime

Thank you! Next run Monday to consolidate all I’ve done over the last nine weeks.

Good choice! A few consolidation runs is great, I started to appreciate running a bit more during consolidation. It helps not to be pushing to increase time/distance for a couple of weeks (I did 3 weeks)

Congratulations, amazing effort! I have one more run left and I’m planning to keep listening to W9R3 during consolidation as I’ll miss Laura a lot!

Thank you! I will consolidate my running before taking on 10k training and I too will miss Laura, she was inspirational! Good luck with your final run, you’ve cracked it too and keep 🏃‍♀️

Well done Dave. I've been looking out for your post as we were both due to graduate today.

Thanks Alan, have you’ve graduated too I see. Very well done, I hope you had better weather than me. I had a humid run and it drizzled all the way round. Now to consolidate. Keeeep 🏃‍♂️

Excellent! Excellent!

in reply toTasha99

Thanks Tasha, I have to run Monday without Laura encouraging me. I’ll run the same route for a while to consolidate what I’ve done and build from there in a month or so.

I found it easy to run without the voice actually. But a watch is very useful to measure etc.

in reply toTasha99

Yes, I use my watch and iPhone to check my times, and I’ve counted my steps per minute, I’m currently running at 168 steps per minute. I count every time my left foot hits the ground for 30 seconds (42 steps) then multiply that result by four which gives me my cadence of 168 steps a minute for both feet. It’s too difficult to count both feet for 60 seconds.

I wouldn’t worry about cadence. It is what it is. Get yourself a garmin and it’ll tell you everything you need 👍🏽

Thank you! I have to run now without Laura’s support, which was great. The vocal support made the program perfect.
