I have tried in the past to encourage Teen 2 to come out running with me, but to no avail. I’m so slow it physically hurts them to go at my speed, and they get too bored running back and forth, so I’ve long since given up suggesting it. So imagine my surprise this afternoon when they asked if I’d gone yet, and since I hadn’t, sake they’d come out with me. For a photography walk! All was suddenly clear! 😄
So off we went. A lens change meant I had to do a lap around the (minuscule) village green, and as we were about to head one way down the main road a trio of teenage boys came through. I may have enough not-caring about me nowadays to run in daylight and not worry about being seen, but plodding at my slow pace in front of a group of lads was too much, so we headed off the other way, up my normal hill.
The numerous photography stops meant that instead of running to the next village and back, we didn’t even get all the way to the top of the hill! On the bright side, that meant I got to run more downhill than usual - but on the less bright side that’s because I was running UP first!
But I did it all. So that’s week 2 finished. Week 3 begins on Wednesday...! Next Sunday will be the real test as I have chemo on Friday afternoon, so I’m aware that that might mean my joints aren’t up to it next weekend - but we’ll see. Two more runs before then anyway!
