I did it!

My 1st run was a bit delayed but I did it tonight πŸ˜„ in the rain, which I quite liked and I actually ran, never thought I could even for short bursts. But 8 mins in total 😳🀣 I'm so surprised how much I enjoyed it, even though my shins hurt and my face was purple by the end. Thank you for the encouragement and inspiration. Slow and steady is good advice. I think I'll do it again on Tuesday πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜Š

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

I can honestly say that it’s worth all of the effort. I never thought that I would be looking forward to going out for a run. Least of all working towards running 5k. Enjoy.

You wont be looking forward to it soon.

You will merely be desperate to go running!

It's ADDICTIVE -in a good way of course.

Glad to see you are hooked already.

Well done on your first run of many.
