I graduated this morning. It even rained on me (first time for everything - it was actually quite refreshing) but i kept going.
10 weeks ago (i had 1 week off for a cold) i struggled to run for 60 seconds.
This week i ran two 5kms for my last two runs. My first (wk9 r2) 35mins 15 and the second today (wk9 r3 - graduation run!) 34mins 35.
I really can't believe it. Cant wait for my graduation badge.
Just wanted to say thank you to everyone here for their encouragement - i didn't post much but just reading the site motivated me.
And to all those just starting or part way through it - keep going - if i can do it so can you.
Next stop park run. I've been talked in to running one next Saturday - unfortunately they are both proper runners - members of the Serpentine running club, marathon runners and even Iron man finishers! Something tells me I won't keep up with them. But who cares? For i am now also a runner.....

WELL DONE! And look, you've got your Graduate badge already! (I genuinely cried yesterday when I saw mine ) That's a really good speed, you'll do a parkrun no problem! Many congratulations, enjoy your running!
Well done and many congratulations. I am sure you will have great fun at the park run with your friends, just remember even marathon runners had to start somewhere and I am sure it will great going with them.
Excellent - well done and chuffed you should be!! Enjoy your first parkrun! I've only done one so far but everyone was so friendly and despite getting lapped by the club runners lol (who did it in 17 minutes) I thoroughly enjoyed it. Enjoy!!
