This was my first run since my 12K last Thursday, nothing to do with the 12K, just struggling to find the right time and weather , I prefer not to run in the rain if I don't have to ! π
Anyway the run was good, no problems and I enjoyed it , which is all that matters to me !
At least I hadn't forgotten how to run π

Good run and time for you Instructor57, I am so happy to know that you enjoyed it after a short break from running, good 12K for you last week as well.
I ran 8K this morning in just under a hour at 58 minutes, I do understand that watch except for that "38 VO2 Max" ???
Thanks Al, as far as I know (and that's not very far π) VO2 Max is a measure of the ability of the body to effectively use oxygen whilst under stress (excesising)
The higher the number the fitter you are .
My reading of 38 gives me a fitness age of 51 , although in years I am 63.
But , and it's a BIG but , I don't think it's very accurate from a watch π
Yes I have heard that despite the high price for a Garmin watch they are not very accurate, better to spend your money on a good pair of running shoes, nevertheless that age of 51 will make you very happy π ππΎ
That's great! It has been quite miserable out there, glad you found a nice window this morning ππͺ Today was my first run since Saturday, much more enjoyable than running in the cold rain with strong winds!
Good job! I did a 5k this morning too. Which I decided would be mainly uphill, just for a bit of a challenge. Lovely morning, good strong run, but it was slower paced than my ridiculous 10k in the wild weather at the weekend! Shows how much inclines slow me down!
Glad you got out there. I think it's fine if you don't manage 3 runs a week, I'm not always getting 3 runs in at the moment. That said, I'm pretty sedentary on the other days apart from my strengthening exercises and the odd trip to my allotment or a dog walk! Oh well... doing our best!
Interestingly I normally do a 15 minute warm up walk but only did 5 minutes so I am going to go back to the 15 minutes warm up walk before I start and run 5k instead of 6k.
Glad to hear you havenβt forgotten how to run Instructor57 π Iβm with you when it comes to running in the rain, not my choice if I can avoid it ππββοΈ
