Hi all!

I was just getting myself all in a tizz. Everyone is posting their Tim’s for completing their 5ks today (part of our school trying to raise money to help the families of people who lost loved ones to Covid). So the quick ones are 22/24 mins and the rest generally around the 30 minute mark, mine was just under 45mins.

Then I told myself off, three weeks ago I wasn’t running at all. The last 5k ‘run’ we did (last month) took me 53 minutes so I beat last months speed by nearly 10 mins as long as I am improving on my time I am not going to worry about anyone else’s!

Slow and steady.

don't compare yourself to others! running 5K at whatever pace is amazing! it's amazing that you've ran 5K, and like you said, you weren't running at all a few weeks ago. congratulations and well done for raising money for a good cause :)

There are a lot of us snails out there. You are in good company. 22 mins and you don't have time to see the scenery. You are doing well. They couldn't improve their PB by 10 mins! Wow, what an improvement. What a result. What a good way of looking at it too. Well done! 👍

Good run for you today HN, those gazelles who can run a sub 24 minute 5K are great runners but don't try and compare their speed with your's, you did very well.

Charity 5k things are never about time... they’re about 5k, raising money and grinning! Great job out there!

That’s a big chunk of time you’ve knocked off in a month... a reflection of the good training you’ve done... wonderful effort, be very proud.

Quite right too! The important thing is you can run for that length of time - who cares how long it takes to 5k? Enjoy!!
