A wet 5K

So yesterday the forcast for today looked good !

I was working this morning and thought I know, I'll go out for a run around lunch time .

The weather was dry and bright while I was working so thought yes!

Go home , change and have a good run in the dry ,

Ha, no such luck .

The weather started to change at the same time as me, and when I went out of the door it was raining ☹️

Ahh well, I'll get wet then 😐

So it was a wet 5K around my usual route , the first in a week

My previous run was last Thursday .

Still, keeps me ticking over 😁👍

Well done Ian! Shame about the weather, but never mind, you got out there! And did another sub 40 minute 5K 👏👏👏

As you say, keeps you ticking over 😊

Thanks Jools , it was a bit of a soggy one and I'm not a fan of running in the rain 😐

You and me both! This morning was lovely. An Amazon delivery plus other stuff (including work) stopped me going out early in the sunshine.

Strangely I didn't really notice the light rain had got me soaked until I found myself dripping everywhere when I got back home.

Yes, same , not heavy rain but absolutely soaked when I got back ! Ahh well 😐

Thanks Rebecca, yes the artwork is my usual route I have been doing since about week 6 C25k, I just added to it for 5k and change it a bit more for 10k 😁

Great that you got out for a run Ian, they all count and keep the legs ticking over as you say. I haven't got soaked yet on a run 🌧 well done for persevering. I bet you feel better having gone out there today 😁

Forecast is for 100% rain tomorrow, what do you wear in the rain? Asking as a Week 5 Run 3 tomorrow, beginner.🇨🇦 I just got my first leggings and jogging pants, what a difference the correct clothing makes, but do you go out in rain in those?

Instructor57 profile image
Instructor57Graduate in reply tocoolfemme

Hi, yesterday I had a long sleeve top , running tights and a light shower proof jacket , the jacket dosent really keep me dry ! I do have a rainproof one as well but it's a little heavier and for me would have been too warm ,

I don't think you can stay dry , if your fear keeps the rain out then you will just sweat and get wet from the inside

coolfemme profile image
coolfemmeGraduate in reply toInstructor57

haha, yes from inside out is right, thanks. I guess I'm not convinced I'm a runner so I haven't dressed like one, yet. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I think that with the dark winter days, keeping running ticking over is perfect!

Yes, I look forward to the longer runs in the longer not so wet days of spring hopefully 😁

Well done. I got caught in the rain and cut my run short to 3K. Basically I wimped out!! Your times are great!

Sorry I missed your post - I've not been getting email notifications. Hopefully it's fixed now.Well done on getting our there. So typical with the weather isn't it! Another good 5k - and in the wet. I know you aren't keen on running in the rain.

You've done much better than me.

The last 2 days I have cried off. Hopefully tomorrow - fingers crossed.

Still a sub 40 5k by a tidy margin. That's pretty good in my book!As you say - keeps you ticking over

I got caught in the rain today, just a short 30 min run, but strangely, once back home, felt quite chuffed that i'd been out running in it, if you see what i mean! 🤣
