Short easy run to test where we’re at

Okay so I’ve been gradually feeling lots better since Monday morning, so decided today was the day that I felt well enough to go for a short run, on the caveats that it wasn’t raining, I took layers, and went reallly easy.

So I did just that! I must say I have this irrational fear of becoming a couch potato again and losing any fitness I now have if I didn’t run at all in this week, so I thought I needed to test the waters. It felt so good to run again! But I could tell my body was tired. I didn’t measure but I think I ran for around half an hour? And went about not quite 5k. I didn’t go up any hills, so literally ran in a straight line around the water and back. My breathing was okay but tricky out of my nose which didn’t help, and my muscles were really quite exhausted after! Tbh in this moment I think 30 minutes was my max! So it’s not too bad as I can still run and feel fine, but on the other hand I don’t think I could manage a long run right now! I’ll wait till Saturday to run again (another easy one), then hopefully will start on the plan next week fingers crossed!! 🥰
